Big magnet thingy...again.

Doh, seem to be repeating some shots, well the last one was in colour and with a different lens and a different viewpoint......oh well if I can find the link it'll get stuck on below. Behind UmIst on the way to work....

Another big magnet thingy - shades of YSP here! Like it.

UMIST - used to go there every Saturday night in my teens!
David Johnson: Thats the kind of part-time degree I'd go for as well........'Dynamic Fluid flow ratio to expenditure; mapping relative acoustic input with emphasis on lower limb syncopation and ingestion of animal byproducts to counteract alcohol poisoning prior to mating rituals. 'We don't need no education'...as vocalised by some ancient beat combo!

I like the composition, textures and the collection of geometries, but wish the halo around the magnet thingy was less pronounced.
David Johnson: Thats what happens when you're a stupid old so and so and post the wrong thumbnail because you can't find your last pair of specs.......slight technical hitch.....normal service will be resumed......hmmmm tomorrow might be a er...different.
geometry is great on this and such a contrast from the cloudy sky. I Like.
David Johnson: Thanks Gail.
Nicely framed.
David Johnson: Oh yes another full frame with nowt taken out although I could have nipped out those supporting legs at the back.....
I like the combination of the harsh man made structure compared to the softer clouds. I think I prefer it to the red one you have linked.
David Johnson: Ay Nigel, think I need to go out for a remedial session without the wide angle as it seems to be default mode at the mo, I prefer the red as well.
I'm clueless about what to say about this ...except that it has made me comment!. richard.
David Johnson: Fair enough then!
Looks like a giant one of those concertina filing things. Great sky.
David Johnson: Could be the ultimate Slinky!

I love this big magnet thingy!
David Johnson: Seems like the students do as well, as it is remarkably graphitti and junk free, which can't be said for poor old Archimedes around the corner.
Love the angle of view and the bold composition. I have to ask this - do you have a library of sky shots that you select and drop into all your shots - I don't remember Manchester having such wonderful skies all the time. Every time I went, it was raining!
Ingrid
David Johnson: Oh no Ingrid, not the old chestnut about it always raining in Manchester....b*ggar its bloomin raining today. Its all down to the FujiS3 and those high dynamic range pixels and a good pummelling with Photoshop. If you've got nothing to do tomorrow its going to be wistfully bright and breezy around here, get your Megabus ticket now.

Highly attractive,,,,,, get it attractive!!!!!!!
David Johnson: Had to steel myself before replying, we need to iron out some ground rules as I've been biting my nails before filing(s) this. I just think we're poles apart.Off to listen to some Simon Rattle....for he is a superconductor! Whats this about them Frenchies???????
