photoblog image Hmmmm Stockport Bus Station.

Hmmmm Stockport Bus Station.

Pulled off the subs bench to do a Pedestrian footfall count at Stockport Bus Station, jeepers it was cold first thing. In the background is the Hat Museum....yes you heard it right! Have a look at the link       http://www.hatworks.org.uk/

Well worth the guided tour just to see how crazy hat making was! Also learn the truth behind the saying 'As Mad as a Hatter'

So this was thursday morning and the French Market is on in the Square as well, what with the Flickr meet in Manchester on Sunday and a big Scooter meet at Urbis, how will I fit in all the sport watching???????

Wasn't it something to do with the chemicals or adhesives they used? It's like the needle museum in Redditch by the sound of it.... a lot more interesting than you realise. Well worth the early rise in the cold for a shot as good as this.
David Johnson: The workers had to roll out the felt by hand and to get more grip they licked their fingers.......felt was treated with arsenic........you don't have to be crazy to work here...as the saying goes.
nice use of wide angle

i could almost live in this shot

shame about the needed iso though
David Johnson: Just beginning to experiment with low light shooting so iso work should get better.
....cut and paste job? that mill's straight from that Manchester painter guy er er Livingstone er er Litchfield er Oh I know Lowery that's the guy ... 'ave you heard of him? ...great soft hues.richard.
David Johnson: Used to sell prints by Vallette, you'll have to google him, same colour range and even more out of focus.

Looks like a nuclear explosion of Manchester, like the finish of this.
David Johnson: Take more than a nuclear bomb to see off this place les!

Nice capture David - like the almost watercolour look of this pic. I would have liked to join in the Flickr event on Sunday but I won't be over that way until end of next week (daughter lives out Runcorn way). David.
David Johnson: Ah think I might have been the token Grandad, mind you anyone under 40 looks like they should still be at school to me these days.
