photoblog image The Plaza, home of the mighty Compton Organ.

The Plaza, home of the mighty Compton Organ.

Not often you can compare Blackpool to Stockport but I am of an age that remembers when Reginald Dixon and his mighty Organ were the second biggest thing in Blackpool next to the Tower. Now the Plaza has its own biggie which rises through the floor with a bit of a wheeze and I reckon its a bit meatier than old Reginalds ,here is the rocking sound of the Tower Ballroom, oh you can sing along to this!

Click the WAV link at the bottom of the page    http://www.girdwood.co.uk/britorg1.html  hmmmmmmmmmm....nice!!

This is how I interpreted this bit back in Summer   http://maxblack.shutterchance.com/photoblog/Mersey_Square,_Stockport./

Very cool capture here grin

Loving it
David Johnson: Cheers both, lots of mist from the Mersey on a sluggish morning.
lovely surreal shot david

not sure if that much blur vignetting was necessary though

cheers
DrAW!
David Johnson: When I practice I have the volume turned up and from that point onwards some subtlety will emerge.

David Johnson: Least I could do for the visual entertainment given.

Lovely atmospheric image David - I hate to admit it but the trip down memory lane all rings horribly true. I've just started humming along......... David.
David Johnson: Ive made the mistake of getting it stuck in a loop on my 'Head' radio....its the quiet times when I hear myself humming that are the worst.
Reginald Dixon and his mighty Wurlitzer might have been a better way of putting it! Great shot David.
David Johnson: Best not to mention Comptons and Wurlitzers in the same sentence, oh b*ggar I just have; sworn enemies!
Interesting shot - rather surreal effect. I rather like the vignetting.

David Johnson: This is somewhat how I saw it but not as the camera captured it. bit of early mist wafting off the Mersey, mind you my memory is not the best....what was I saying???
Surrealish, I like the yellow against the muted background, I can't decide if I like the red plaza or not, I'm not sure if it balances or tries to compete.
Some nice mystery in this shot.
