Pigs

These are the last visible remains of a coaster than ran aground with a cargo of 300 Pigs.1837 April 19th. ALBION. (BRISTOL). Wooden Paddle Steamer. 270 tons. 150'ft. Marloes. (Bt 1831). Driven onto beach. Cork-Bristol.Running southerly thru Jack Sound hit rock, and was then beached. The big 'tap' shaped object is one of the cranks that joined up with the paddles, you can only see this at low tide. Had a bad day up on Saddleworth Moor yesterday, horizontal rain and nowhere to hide but have snapped the elusive Saddlewoth Llamas, yes Llamas, so after this beach stuff (it could go on for months) I will reveal all. Are you ready for some beach sculpture...well maybe Thursdays the day!

The colors make this look like a desolate alien landscape. Weird but good!
David Johnson: One of those special beaches only accessible a low tide, forgot to say that there was a Seal patroling the shore line when I was there!!
It is gorgeous. The colour. The composition is so strong.
David Johnson: Thanks Michael, felt I should have spent a bit more time composing but its just about there1
I'm totally and definitely ready for the forthcoming beach sculptures ! This is a beauty.
David Johnson: Thursday is Mr Hobbs day, don't get too excited...
Were the pigs saved?

This is a beautiful shot, David. I love the peachy beach and the blue/grey tones of the sky. (:o)
David Johnson: Liberated by the locals......yummy
Good shot David, I like the dramatic sky.
David Johnson: Hiya Sesan, yep, part of a pretty dramatic landscape,
Another cracker David. Strong foreground through to a dramatic sky. Superb composition.
David Johnson: Cheers Bill,I was a bit iffy about the compo but its not too bad!
like everything about this,i see i am going to have to up the game a bit, lol.
David Johnson: Just keep sticking up the memory joggers, that'll do me!
Passive beach ...threatening sky ... Good quality beach fodder. Great. richard.
David Johnson: I'm still trying to get my head around you dragging that boulder up the cliff path!!!!!!!
Lovely dreamy tranquil shot with a wonderful sky
David Johnson: Ta Chris, great place to be but with half an eye on the incoming tide.

Just great (again) - another fabulous picture David. We seem to have a lot more rubbish on our beaches over here on the NE coast.
David Johnson: Odd, some of the beaches were stuffed with trash, Thursdays upcoming image was created from some, but at a beach further up from here that was Slate cliffs and sand, absolutely nothing, not a twig.
Liking it, i like the curves of the sand and colour of the rock, I think the sky's contrast is a bit out compared with the cliffs though.
David Johnson: Yep see what you mean, ever since the 'uploading pasty image syndrome' of last week I've erred a bit towards the Dark sidew
Great composition - I like the placement of the rock in the right foreground. The sky is full of foreboding...
Ingrid
David Johnson: Its me, should have explained that that thing is a lump of metal in the right foreground, all boat bits.
