Henry the 7th......

Give you all a bit of a breather from that Art stuff as its history lesson time

At this very beach did Henry the 7th land from Honfleur in France with 4000 men, on his way up to Aberystwyth then on to Bosworth Field, its a tiny little place and as you can see by the wreck a wee bit dangerous. Only took him 2 weeks to go from here up Wales and across to Leicestershire and then fight!. Okay lesson over.

This is another low tide wreck and there seems to be no database with it on, well that I can find, but that could just be me.

Where is this, David?
Never knew Henry 7th travelled through Aberystwyth - I went to Uni there, so maybe we both stepped on the same sand & soil. Maybe even attended the same lectures.....
David Johnson: This is Dale down on the Pembrokeshire Coastline, theres a Plaque in the Town commemorating his landing, did a search to find out about his journey off to Bosworth, sheesh thats one heck of a walk in 2 weeks!!!!!!

Well and truely ship wrecked. Like the B&W tones in this shot.
David Johnson: Ay missing all the Black and White stuff,,,,too much to get through in colour though
Shipwrecks really stir the imagination, don`t they. This is a lovely shot, lovely tones and textures. (:o)
David Johnson: Thanks Ros, would have liked to give some info but searched all over the place....there was something on the pub wall.......
Ha! Maritime history .. good basis for telling yarns.
Ros, ... as well as your imagination being stirred I guess the ship's crew got stirred as well and didn't like losing a night's sleep either.
Dave, subtle grainy feel to this and imaginative lighting. richard.
David Johnson: Used my Photoshop Barnacle effect filter on this, not available in the shops......
Love it David.
David Johnson: Cheers old bean!

Image looks good, history lesson is well found and processing well done.
Thanks for the history lesson. Re the pic I feel the ship is a bit lost in the background as it is B&W, do you see what I mean?
David Johnson: Blimey, good thing I didnt put up the colour version, barnacles sand rocks and rust of similar hue and tones, although I could have used the bonkers switch on hue saturation.
