photoblog image River Mersey, Parrswood

River Mersey, Parrswood

Okay, I think the chicken has been strangled enough...........back to work and had the 'misfortune' of having to check out Route 62 Trans penine trail that runs along the banks of the Mersey. Someone is paying me to do this...are they mad! So sunrise ,frostiness and steamy water, one old git and a Fuji. What a way to start the working week!

Missed all the crispy grunginess that coats the nether regions of this City Of Manchester, well there's loads of new stuff over here that never sees the light of day on Shutterchance, go on, treat yourself...its a Chicken free zone as well  http://www.flickr.com/photos/maxblack/

The chicken treated us well while it lasted, but this is alternative fare has a lot to recommend itself. A sunrise never hurts, I like the strong diagonal, and especially the rock in the lower right that pins the shot down.
David Johnson: Thanks Martin, don't know how you get thew time to pop around SC and look at stuff woith all those comments to answer!! The slithering and sliding was to get that foreground detail, I'm glad I did.

Lovely image, David, it just sends a winter chill threw you!
David Johnson: Same today around here but just squelched through some cow poo fields around the Airport....had a break at the viewing area and have given Concorde the photographic once over.
Reflects in the water are just like painting...
David Johnson: The air and water were so still Florence!

Well David life a b**ch sometimes, but if work pay's the bills then, what more can I say. Looks like really stressful work too(NOT).

Nice reflection and love the crisp morning feel to this shot.smile
David Johnson: It was a crispy start Tracey, thought it was going to be the same over near the Airport but ended up just being cold and squishy....s'not nice...
The frost in the foreground makes it for me. It's so chilly with the rising frost mist. Very, very nice.
David Johnson: Thanks Mary, almost got too excited when I saw the shot.....breathe deep and concentrate......
I love all the detail in that sky.
David Johnson: Cracking sunrise, a bit like todays really!

love this david, the frost makes it for me.hope the chicken didnt get cold.it gave us all a good laugh.
David Johnson: I think he wants to sign up to facebook!
A winter wonderland - I like all the vigorous diagonal lines and the crispness of the frost in the foreground compared to the mistiness in the background. Perhaps we can see more of Mr Chicken at Christmas - at treat for all us children.

David Johnson: Mr Chicken says( I can't believe I'm still writing this) that he will be sending his younger sibling via the Tescos Pet toy counter, to stay over Christmas......Did one horizontal and this landscape , and I always seem to plump for 'vertical' landscapes these days. must be a reason, but tomorrows is a bit further along the river and is horizontal...... My wife says she can get 2 signatures whistled up pronto any time I feel like a spell in a padded cell....

Ah a chicken free zone - phew! Cracking shot to bring us back to reality; funky sky, slow water and lovely crisp frosty vegetation! My compliments to the photographer!
David Johnson: Thank God the Chicken's gone. It may give peeps, I don't know, the idea that I'm not right for normal society.....yeh........Ive trudged cycled and stumbled down this bit of Mersey for umpty tumpt years and this is the best it has looked....ever...all those places to revisit and reinterpret....hmmmmmmmmm
Great water reflections. I like the colour tones
David Johnson: River levels and flow are very very low and slow for this time of year, makes for good pictures though.

its a tough job but someones got to do it. Do they have any vacancies?
David Johnson: Well I can give John, my driver the elbow but you have to put up with me singing Show Tunes, scavenging for free coffee stickers from Maccydee cups and not knowing more answers to Popmaster than me,oh and there's lots of trudging through cowshit as well...its not part of the job just one of my hobbies, by the way have been singin 'Mums and Dads' by Lionel Bart for the last few days as it is stuck in my head Radio and I can't switch it off( s'not on utube so can't let you hear it)
All the elements combine so perfectly in this one. I know that if it were me, I would be so transfixed by the frosted ground that I wouldn`t think to look up and see a bigger picture. This is a great lesson for me. (:o)
David Johnson: Well there's one just for you tomorrow...promise!
Terrific shot David. I've bookmarked your flickr site for a proper look later.
David Johnson: Have a stiff drink handy..........

Its a tough life David!
David Johnson: Up on Saddleworth Moor last week being given the combined Car Wash and Wind Tunnel treatment, nowhere to run, nowhere to hide but worst of all the camera had to stay in the bag!!!! Had to recover at Lees Tea room mainlining bacon butties.
That can't be the Mersey its the wrong colour, it should be brown and muddy. Worth getting up for though.
David Johnson: It only runs red when it gets to Liverpool....this is just a bit further upstream http://maxblack.shutterchance.com/photoblog/well_I_said_theyd_be_different/
Glad that 'bloody' chicken's gone..Ha!
Cold enough to freeze the balls of a brass monkey( yeh its not rude ...its an old sea-going term)richard;-)
David Johnson: Curse that Chicken, ever since it appeared my old puter has had the hiccups, purloined no.3 childs laptop to catch up, I think its safe to chuck fruity language around as the spam bots seem to be on holiday.
