Beautiful composition and colours in this picture. I like it.
David Johnson: Thanks Frank, shot 'on the run' as security is very tight here, I had my Hi Viz gear on so wasn't pestered

I see you have been busy painting the sky. Good job and a clever perspective!
David Johnson: lamposts and junk on the bottom left hand side just had to go, thanks for the comment Martin
Serious cool. What an eye you have.
David Johnson: Thanks Gail, have had this in mind for a long time but had'nt been here for a couple of years, security very very tight so shot whilst walking back to the car!
This is a stunner, David. I dunno what you do to these images, but they are always top notch. Out of interest, where did you focus in this shot, as it seems pretty sharp all the way through?
David Johnson: Once you get the Tokina onto f6.7 or above everything usually snaps into focus, except of course if you have some very close foreground detail, this has a self blend overlay layer with a touch of gaussian blur to give that sharp/soft look, the rest is down to the Fuji and those extra little highlight sensors that are life savers when theres a bit of sky in view.
super photo David, love the angle the walkway runs through the scenesmile
David Johnson: Yes one of those logged from ages ago, had to take iot on the run as there are far too many security peeps about!
Very nice composition. I like the angle
David Johnson: Thanks Richard, the 12-24 is spot on for getting this kind of shot.
Under the arches ... great. richard.
David Johnson: Ta Richard, forgot to say but I used to do the framing for the Rufford place when it first opened!
Brilliant perspective. I like it very much. (:o)
David Johnson: Thanks Ros, trusty 12-24, usually gets me what I want!

Stunning photograph David - I do hope Manchester presses for reinstatement of the public right of way through the hotel - I was thinking of popping up in the New Year so if there was a handy vacant room on this right of way it would be just the job ;o)

Getting your portrait lens from F. Xmas or has deep thought emptied the coffers???
David Johnson: Usually there is a bit of horse trading and then they implement whats called a LEO, which is an agreed alternative, usually at the offenders expense, but only if they get found out like this in the first place!!!
Lens situation may change, 24-120 has gone in for a supposed repair but methinks it will be an uneconomical write off so will go for a 85 1.8 and a 50 1.4. Done all my christmas shopping and set the youngest up with her own Photographic studio, Casio Exlim, HP printer, optical mouse and software, and will get her a blog either here or over on flickr, deep thought now has a new 500gb hard drive to mess up......

This is one of those 'classic' shots that some people manage to get absolutely right - you have!
David Johnson: OO er missus, Florence has already made me blush and now its your turn....
