ok i give in ,what is it.looks upside down to me what ever it is.going to bed to think about this.
David Johnson: Walk towards object of your photographic desire. Turn around with back to said object....lean back semi limbo style...snap....lean forward and look at all the people giving you the "I think he's a barmcake" once over...skulk off cuckling like Muttley
Mind boggling. It is hard to tell up from down.
David Johnson: This place has been snapped tons of times and sometimes, to get a different view it requires a flexible back...shot leaning back facing away from the building..I will do this more often until I hurt myself.
Extremely IMPRESSED with this piece.

Well done
David Johnson: Thanks guys.

I can see the reflection of the other building but this is still playing with my eyes. I like this one.

J
David Johnson: Ta J, its all about leaning backwards...
I love the way you have turned the whole world on its side, as it were.
David Johnson: Thanks larry, this place has been snapped so many times it needed a new viewpoint to freshen it up.
love the geometry
David Johnson: Thanks Alicia, this is the Justice Building in manchester that has been designed to look like an open filling cabinet, but it was too murky to do that bit of the building any....er....justice.

An interesting work of art. I cannot figure out the proper orientation.
David Johnson: Have a few beers then sit with your back to the screen and then lean backwards as far as you can...

Wow it's giving vertigo !!! I don't know anymore where I am ... Well done !!!
David Johnson: The power of Manchester to disorientate the casual passer by is legendary.

I'm renowned for my lack of spatial abilities so this has got me really puzzled. Is it on its side, upside down or what? Interesting shot anyway.

David Johnson: Ha ha...face building..turn around...lean back ...and snap...

Looks pretty near perfect to me. Outstanding.
David Johnson: I can retire now.....
Intriguing shot. My eye was first caught by the beautyful perspective created by the this nice symetric diagonal rectangle. Well done
David Johnson: Thanks Richard, must get a shot of this building in its entirety as its quite unusual!!!
Never seen such a mind blowing shooting angle... Great graphic translucent/transparent abstract. richard
David Johnson: Wonder what folk will make of these slabs in generations to come, legacy or lunacy, anyhow they keep giving these snapping opps so musn't grumble...too much!

woooooooooooooooow Brillant ! Very nice work !
David Johnson: Easy on those vowels you may break your keyboard.
You were lucky you weren't arrested there- that's close to the back door to the Courthouse where all the security vans take the miscreants in! I also noticed when I was last there that this building has caused a huge funnel effect- nearly blew my toupee into the canal! wink
Truly excellent photograph at all levels.
David Johnson: Wot me in my impervious to slings and arrows high viz overcoat, trouble is everyone confused me with someone who actually knows something, kept fending off inquiries of how to get to the Spice Tramps concert...
I don't know what to make of this all I know is that it's a cracking shot..
David Johnson: Er..I'll take that as a positive then!
Think I might need a glass of red to help me figure this one out David!
David Johnson: I'm all for that!!!
It really does take some working out! Be careful with your backgrin
David Johnson: Its kernackered already so a bit of stretching always helps
Wow! Fantastic photograph and I love it, but I am more impressed by the fact that you can use your camera while limbo-ing! Now that IS impressive. (:o)
David Johnson: Toe touching every morning I may be creaky but still bendy....matron....

Nice play with the abstract here, love it, you could not fool me, this is absolute perfect!!!!!
David Johnson: Thanks for the comment Astrid.
Love the lines, contrast, reflections and the view to infinity. The angle u've taken the shot from, works which ever way I turn my notebook (sideways, upside down etc). Nice one smile
The rotation here simulates a fake horizon... I've lost my feet and my sens of equilibriium... very well done and interesting sense of perspective ! smile
David Johnson: Thanks Florence, the idea was to have a different 'look; at something thats just a glass and tin building

it might be drab and grey but boy does this image make it look wonderfulsmile
David Johnson: Always shied away from grim lighting but may trust it more after this batch of Manchester shots.

OK, so you've got me confused! Took me a while to work out which way's up!

Very cleverly composed, and so sharp too
David Johnson: Like fotogtafa said you can look at this from every which way, if you want, but this is how I saw it, just came out weirder!
I think a bit of both mental and physical gymnastics are at work here, very abstract in it's form and a great image to boot. well seen David.
David Johnson: Cheers Les, appreciate that.

Ha ha, wonder what David had been up to to be there!

I think I would need physio if I bent my back and neck to get this shot. Building looks as though it carries to infinity.

This is wonderful - meant to leave a comment the other day but don't seem to find the time to get on SC that much.
Fantastic angle and the sharpness & DoF captured here is just great.
John
David Johnson: Thanks John, great comment. This is one of those manchester Cliche buildings so had to think a bit to get a new angle on things.
