photoblog image Ah, found a crusty bit.

Ah, found a crusty bit.

Chivvied along by Mrs J who was in power-walking mode so not much time for dawdling about , this was the only crusty bit on this walk, so I did the decent thing and snapped it.

What a great muddy mess! Makes a good grunge shot.
David Johnson: I knew something like this would pop up amidst all the great Derbyshire scenery
Much better than things with a pulse...wink
David Johnson: I trust we're talking animals here!!!!!
I am glad you found a moment to shoot. That is a great shot.
David Johnson: Gave all the other ramblers passing by something to scratch their heads about and go by muttering,

neat shot. great composition and tones.
David Johnson: Cheers, felt it needed to be captured.
Industrial archeology ... always worth scouring the Peak District for on your 'nice' romantic country strolls. richard
David Johnson: Found a bunch of potholes that looked worth a scrabble through but Mrs J gave me one of those looks, you know, the kind where only eyebrows are used....

smart shot David, surprised to see the mono conversion with this knowing how rust looks in coloursmile
David Johnson: Had to 'rescue' this with a bit of tone-mapping, the background was a banging shaft of bright light so had to compromise on exposure, colours looked a bit 'unbelievable' but not very rusty just..er...dirty!

Nice shot !!! It's original. Nice reflections in water and light ... I ove the use of B&W ... It creates a special atmosphere !
David Johnson: Thanks Ann, if I could have I would have used an ND filter on this lengthen the exposure and get the water looking glassy but was doing this one handed hanging to a tree so it was out of the question!!

There's no keeping the crust out of Max Black obviously. Your description of being chivvied along by Mrs J had me laughing and conjures up an image of a lady who stands no nonsense with hen-pecked husband in tow! Still the shot was worth it - I like the contrast between the sharp metal and soft background.

David Johnson: Don't mess with my Missus, didn't get to the position she operates from by being a pushover, but don't think I'm henpecked, oh no,think of me more as a mixture of Court Jester, Partner and the working mother that she can't be.....anyway, this snap, horrble lighting given a polish with my biggest Photoshop duster
Very nice moody shot. Great use of the DOF here!
David Johnson: Cheers Richard, gave the Dof a bit of PP help
Nice crusty shot David!
David Johnson: Its like the harpies singing to me....I can hear them now...no thats the old tinuttis again..off snapping now in the rain, it has to be done.

It's great to capture things like this that might not be around forever, David.
David Johnson: Hmmm think it might be around for longer than me though!!
Love love the textures

Interesting crusty shot, David! And I like the variances of the focal range across the shot too which works well.
David Johnson: Thanks for all 3 comments!
