i really like the angle of this shot, makes it quite dramatic
David Johnson: Thanks Asiko, all the other folk snapping were left scratching their heads by my 'funny angle' snapping.
This shot has some nice drama to it.
David Johnson: Tahnks Gail, its what I set out to acheive.
I like the angle as well as the mono here. The sky adds the dramatic atmosphere too.
David Johnson: Thanks Florence, as ever i appreciate your comments.
Great use of the sky to accentuate the strength in this guy.
David Johnson: Could be the last bit of decent sky I see for a while over here as Autumn has officially arrived with its curtain raiser of damp and drizzle, these guys are fearsome...but naked.....

Wow, cool shot. Very damatic
David Johnson: Thanks mate, yeh that was the effect I was looking for.
Potent and powerful (had to avoid using ''dramatic'' ...ha!)
David Johnson: Drama....cracking word that I think I overused on 'International Talk like a Pirate' day, his week. Trouble was no one else seemed to know what was going!!!!!on.....aaarrrrrr

Cool, like the way the sky has wrapped itself round his face.
David Johnson: Ta Lillith, as it was so pooey the first time I went knew i had to go back when the weather was better
Quite unnerving in its way. The imposing angle, fierce face, wild sky...
David Johnson: As these guys sit in Parkland surrounded by trees I thought I'd get an angle that would accentuate the fierce nature of them.
Terrific! This would make a great advertising poster. I can just see it on a billboard.

deliciously moody. mal
David Johnson: Mal,thanks for sparing the time from answering all your comments, was across at your gaff the other day and couldn't get a comment in edgeways, or have you now got a PA in to handle all that stuff, look forward to seeing you being interviewd by Alan Yentob on BBC4, think its time you trade marked your name as well!
You have stolen my comment, having seen the image before your note I would have used the exact words.

I had a cultural trip to your neck of the woods yesterday. I was on a course at the Waterside Gallery in Sale. Very nice.
David Johnson: You weren't there on Monday during the Armaggedon Hail Storm???? I was in my new all singin and dancing Tranny Van doing lunch with the geese!!! Place seemed very busy!
shaving foam, thought it was sun block .like this one .
David Johnson: Sun Block...this is West Yorkshire, even the sheep wear overcoats.
Lovely! A great angle, intriguing textures and a beautiful grayscale, all contribute to enhance the power and pride of this warrior.
David Johnson: Marcello, thnks, I think you summed it up wonderfully.
Textures of sky and face play off each other so perfectly. A good dramatic perspective, too.
David Johnson: Thanks and glad you saw what I was aiming for.
Great textures, wonderful crop and unique angle.

Liking it very much.
David Johnson: Think it helped that I spent an afternoon here in the drizzle beforehand so I knew what I wanted from all these sculptures
David, I'm just catching up with your sculpture series, I dont think I should go to YSP as it wont be as good as you have portrayed. Really strong series.
David Johnson: Er but this is the way I look at things and you have a different way.......go one..its worth it for the Goldsworthys
Very cool. Into my likeys! Cheers, H.
David Johnson: Thanks Harry, yep its one of my recent faves
Oh that works so well! (:o)
