photoblog image One for Les.

One for Les.

Les left a link on his pages to this place where you can get some rather useful texture overlays http://www.flickr.com/photos/beapierce/sets/72157601574009156/ which I am having a bit of fun footling with, so as Les stuck these guys on the other day I'd just like to post this as a bit of a thankyou to him. I'm trying to get a Photoshop tips and tricks site up and running, this image is on the opening page  http://www.maxblack.shutterchance.com-a.googlepages.com/home I know bit of a mouthfull but its free. So if any of you ou there have a personalised photoshop wrinkle that you might wish to share can you email me images broken down into stages, I'll add the screen grabs for the tools and so forth. Apparently I can get up to 500 administrators for this so when its going it can be edited in a Wikipedia sort of way...which could be a bit of fun. Looking for things that arn't in the Photoshop or Adobe manuals if you see what I mean, maybe its the way you blend or how you use pre-sets, anything that someone else could find useful!!!!!! Will also link things up so your tip will lead some traffic back to you. Might take a while to get going but this is all part of my New Years resolution to pass on the knowledge...see if you can help.

Great initiative David!! Nice post too
David Johnson: Thanks Patrick, finding out that I may have bitten off more than I can chew.
Very cool. I love the tones.
David Johnson: Cheers Michael, think I did this as an overlay layer and played with the opacity.

Nice one David, the textures work well on these figures and the toning suits the image perfectly. Appreciate the words as well.

I like the idea of your new site and I can only agree with your methodology compared with dear old Ansel. A methodology that many of us use everyday. Keep up the good work.
David Johnson: Cheers Les and thanks for the texture heads up, used a few already.
thats simply wonderful. I love it a lot. Great textures like the old sepia pictures. Intense. Great work again. Likey, for sure !
David Johnson: Thanks Florence, just experimenting with some of the textures Les pointed me towards. Thanks for the likey as well.
Great shot David. I'll check out the site. I haven't tried these textures yet but your and Les's pictures make me think I mus get round to downloading them
David Johnson: Give it a go, some of them are really useful, or just make your own, Ive accumulated a mountain of them now.

Did you download the windmills on the horizon too? This shot certainly suggests that we all need to check out those tips and tricks on your site. Thanks for putting them up!
David Johnson: Hope to get things up and running by the weekend, well the first few tips anyway.
Nice one Max. I had not seen Googlepages before this intro, great idea. I will let you have a couple of tweaks.
David Johnson: All I need are some screen grabs no bigger than 800 x 600 and I will fiddle with them and add the arrows and pointers

What a fantastic idea, David! Great photo, btw, of what are fast becoming my favourite sculptures. (:o)

What a great idea David. I don't know how much I will have to contribute but I will certainly be an avid reader!

I missed the link when Les posted it before so thanks for that too (and to Les!). I keep meaning to try out applying some textures so this may be the prompt that tips me into action smile

I like the way the processing matches what's happened to the sculpture.

Will keep an eye on your site - I could do with some usable PS tutorials, that I can understand.

How did you manage to 'get' the site?
