Youve got that whole 'Rumblefish' vibe going on again. No bad thing.
I have a £35 rule in bookshops. I believe, rather sadly, that the more a book costs the better it is but set my limit to £35 upon which i will read it cover to cover in the shop. It call it 'sticking it to the man' but its more likely 'not having a proper job and children to feed'.
David Johnson: If they provide a nice big comfy chair and a no -hassle atmosphere it beats the Library, now if I can slip my flask in and have Radio 5 live on as well..
Now that's nice and it's my favorite subject.
David Johnson: Cheers mate!!

Excellent shot & great angle - despite the title, it still took a few moments for my brain to click into action and realise what I was looking at....
David Johnson: They're called 'Senior moments' I'm an expert on those! Also now going wibbly if I stand up too quickly, eh, getting old, all that experience, all that ill health.....
reminds me of Marcel Duchamp..
David Johnson: Had to remind myself about Dada and Surrealism and I can see where you're coming from!

The contrast in this image is subtle and very striking. Dramatic image, I like, even Likey!

As for your books I find Schoeller's portraits, in ya face and very compelling but I hate his lighting setup and the resulting awkward catch lights in the eyes. I have seen this style of portrait done much better using a ring flash.
David Johnson: Ha, after all these years I'm finally getting the hang of using multi channel layer masks, very long learning curve here!!
I am worse - I had to read Urban8' comment before I could work out what it was! My early money was on a solar panel! Arnold Newman is a big favourite, but don't know "The Gap" portraits - will check them out. So you are the one in the bookshop filling up the chairs all day. lol. Look forward to seeing the work. Mike. PS good shot.
David Johnson: I do pay my way by sitting in Starbucks making an espresso last an hour or so, need to get a 'proper portrait lens first!
Yes took me a few minutes to work out what it was as well - in my defence all I can say is that it's been a long week...

Great capture.
David Johnson: Long and wet, hey its sunday night and its raining again.....ta for the coment.
thought it was a keyring at first...interesting compisition...
David Johnson: This 12-24 Ive got can do odd things with perspective but without any pincushion or barrel ....interesting...
